China Unicom Looks to BlackBerry to Increase 3G users

An article has surfaced on Reuters letting us know that the China’s No.2 mobile carrier, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Ltd plans to gain 150 percent more 3G users this year.  China Unicom’s fulfillment might depend on Research in Motion’s BlackBerry and even Apple’s iOS products. President Lu Yimin also informed us via news conference that the company will also begin selling BlackBerry smartphones the first six months of the year.

“We believe interest in our 3G service will continue to grow this year,” the company’s chairman Chang Xiaobing told reporters
