China Mobile, the Beijing based carrier is finally allowing BlackBerry subscribers to advantage of full capabilities offered by BlackBerry. Since 2006, BlackBerry smartphones have been available in China, but only a select few had BIS activated. China Mobile didn’t offer the “push” technology that allows users to receive emails. According to a RIM spokeswoman, starting today, China Mobile is now offering BlackBerry Internet Service plans at CNY98-CNY108 a month. Katie Lee, the RIM spokeswoman, said BIS will be launched in the rest of China later, but was not able to provide an exact time line. Let’s see if this causes a BB surge in China.
