While reading up on Verizon’s future I stumbled across some news. Nothing is official here, except for the 9570 that was pictured on Best Buy’s ad system. Today’s newset rumor comes right out of the filing cabinet labeled “Rumors”. According to Kaufman Bros analyst Shaw Wu, RIM’s BlackBerry plans at Verizon may be accelerated beyond just BB6 updates anticipated for early 2011. AT&T’s exclusive on the Torch may expire with the end of 2010 and could see a CDMA version by March, Wu said. He also acknowledged that it could be another full-touchscreen BlackBerry, such as the Storm 3 that reaches the network.
The Storm3 or 9570 may be just a mild revision of the Storm2 with BlackBerry 6 and more RAM, although some rumors have pointed to it or a completely new model having a much larger screen and a new design.
Will you pick up a Torch or Storm over an Iphone on Verizon? I know there are a lot of Storm fans who have been lobbying for an all new Storm model. 2010 is almost out, so we’ll see what RIM has in store for us in 2011
