BOLT Browser – Discontinued

Back in 2009, BOLT Browser was introduced to us as a top third-party browser for our BlackBerry’s.  When the native BlackBerry browser was still a bit lacking in features, BOLT came as a great relief, giving us tabbed browsing and faster speeds.

Sadly, as announced on their website, BOLT will be discontinued due to “economic circumstances”.  We must applaud BOLT and its makers for the two or so years they have provided us with a great web experience, and especially for the fact that during its duration this app was free of cost.  BOLT was there for us to fill that gap, which RIM has only just recently filled with the native browser, and for that alone I am sure a lot of us are grateful.

So, I’m sure I can speak for a lot of us when I say, “Thank you BOLT!”  The economy has claimed yet another victim, but for what it’s worth we appreciate what you have done and wish you luck in the future.
