Following up to RIM’s largest outage which plagued users nearly two weeks ago, RIM is now seeing some measurable effects. Gazelle, the nation’s largest electronics reCommerce company is receiving BlackBerry trade-ins that are at an all-time high. It appears for whatever the reason, whether its due to the outage or the new generation iPhone 4S,  BlackBerry users are trading in their Berry’s for cash.
Gazelle’s “Chief Gadget Officer’ Anthony Scarsella told CNET that this is “easily the highest volume of BlackBerry trades ever seen period.” That includes a “spike” following this month’s outage. “In the grand scheme of BlackBerry growth over the past month, it can be pretty much entirely attributed to the launch of the iPhone 4S,” Scarsella said.
