BlackBerry’s head of enterprise, John Sims, said the BBM team is working with potential partners to add money transfer and payment options to BBM. “Money movement is an important thing.” says John Sims. We have reported on this before as it is currently available in some countries through certain banks called BBM Money.

This however will be a different more advanced approach of using BBM to send and receive money in a secure way. Sims also noted that BBM has 85 million monthly active users and has seen daily registration rates increase 40% since it added support for Gingerbread, an older version of Android still widely used on phones in developing markets.
