Earlier today RIM sent out emails declaring the release of the anticipated update for the BlackBerry Mobile Voice System v5.0. The new update adds calling throughWi-Fi which is huge for businesses. No more need for a bunch of deskphones, everything can be done using a BlackBerry! Currently, MVS-5 is restricted to Cisco PBX, but as noted,  support for other PBX vendors can easily be added. Check out more about MVS-5 here on RIMs website.

In my opinion, this a positive step that RIM has taken to further accommodate the needs of businesses, but that’s jut me. What do you think? Let us know!
