BlackBerry ID API – Coming Soon for Developers

The use of BlackBerry ID is slowly increasing more and more native services falling under it’s control and is set to become a key feature in the up coming BlackBerry OS7.

Speaking to Mike Kirkup, RIM’s Director of Developer Relations, Our friends over at BerryReview learnt that this feature could be seen as early as BlackBerry OS 7.

Currently developers use the device PIN or E-Mail to verify the registration status of their applications, RIM is hoping that soon BlackBerry ID will become the sole way to identify and application against a device, This will mean that Developers can potentially use a BlackBerry ID to verify an app license against their registration list and other customizations based on a single ID.

Not alot is currently known about the full use of this API or the way that it could be used by 3rd party developers but I expect that it will greatly improve the way a developer address’ ID and verification features or their app.

So developers what do you think about this upcoming BlackBerry ID feature? Let us know below.
