BlackBerry ‘Dallas’ and ‘Venice’ appear on India import records

Yesterday, the BlackBerry Dallas was reported to be certified for release in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia through various sources. Today, import records from Zauba reveal that the BlackBerry Venice aka the Slider and the Dallas have both been imported to India.

With the label of STV100-3, the Venice aka the Slider aka the AndroidBerry aka the Jesus Phone is becoming more and more of a reality (the device, not whichever OS it’s running). The import records suggest that imports are evaluation units and not for sale.

  • BLACKBERRY MOBILE DEVICE BULK-MODEL 164 (PRD-62121-700) WITH ACCESSORIES FOR EVALUATION PURPOSE & NOT FOR COMMERCIAL SALE
  • BLACKBERRY MOBILE DEVICE-BULK-R150-STV100-3-MODELCERTIN:RHL211LW-FOR EVALUATION PURPOSE ONLY AND NOT FOR COMMERCIAL SALE

The imports are more than likely for BlackBerry India employees in order for them to familiarize themselves with the device in time for the launch. There could also be different versions of the device as findings on the CB forums list the Venice as RHK211LW (STV100-1) and RHM181LW (STV100-4).
