RIM have today announced some exciting new features in the Beta Zone, These have been added as a result of users feedback and aim to improve the overall user experience of the testing platform.
Below is a detailed list of the changes;
Keycode Listing
- You can now retrieve program-specific keycodes for your device PIN through My Account > Keycodes
- Click the “Get Latest Keycode” link beside each program to generate a new keycode
- A keycode will then be sent to your current email address
Feature Request Tracker
- A new interface where users can now vote on feature enhancements submitted by the beta community via the discussion forums
- On programs where the feature is enabled, you can find it under the “Feature Requests” tab
Issue Tracker
- a new built in a feature where users can vote on the top issues for a given program
- On programs where the feature is enabled, you can find it under the “Current Issues” tab
I have also noticed that under the ‘My Programs’ page there is now the option to leave a selected program
This option allows a user to leave programs as and when they want to giving them greater control of their testing platform.
All of these changes can be found under the Beta Zone program area from your programs menu on the left hand side, Lets hope that RIM continue to listen to our feedback and continue to improve the overall user experience of the Beta Zone for future programs.
