BlackBerry App World Rebuilt From Ground Up – What Devs Need to Know

With BlackBerry 10 on its way and the recruit of new developers, the Dev Team at RIM let us know of a few changes that will be beneficial to all developers when it comes to marketing your app. They are introducing what is called “Improved Relevance Marketing Meta-Data”, what exactly does this mean?

You will now be able to upload multiple sets of meta-data (this includes screenshots and descriptions) that will be platform and language-specific. No need to spread your applications across multiple product SKUs.

Some updates to the BlackBerry App World storefront search will be made to further improve app discoverability. In January 2013, it will be updated to include searching on the following fields:

  • Title
  • Keywords
  • Vendor Name
  • Short Description
