Hello,
I woke up on a fine day and said, today will have some meaning to it, besides my normal existence. Little did I know that I would be learning of a new BBE member or talking with Kris about plans for the site. While we are dedicating our time to providing you great service, RIM has been up to the same thing. BlackBerry App World has been updated to version 2.0.0.36. Kris, would you like to list the new features?
Sure Liaison, I (Kris0521) would love to explain to these fine folks what the new App World 2.0 has in store for them. First off I would like to introduce the most important feature of BlackBerry App World 2.0. Credit Card/Carrier Billing Payment Option: Users are now able to purchase applications using major credit cards, including Visa and MasterCard. That means you will no longer be obliged to use Paypal as your primary source for payment. Carrier billing may also be supported by certain carriers. If you do not have a credit card or paypal, simply bill the app to your carrier. How cool and convenient is that? BlackBerry ID: This enables credit card payments and allows customers to seamlessly transfer their personal library of free and purchased apps when they switch to a new BlackBerry smartphone. Personally, this is one of my favorites! QR Barcode Scanning: This allows users to scan a QR code associated with an application from anywhere – the web, print ads, brochures, etc. BlackBerry App World 2.0 will quickly find the related application and automatically open and download its page. Easier Application Discovery:This feature adds new tabbed sections for various applications lists. Users can horizontally swipe or scroll to quickly view the Top 25 Free Apps, Top 25 Paid Apps and Top 25 Themes, as well as the Newest Apps and Recently Updated Apps.
Thats it for this post. Have you had the chance to upgrade to 2.0 already? What is your favorite feature? Let us know!
