The official blog for the BlackBerry developer has announced the availability in public BETA Social Platform for BlackBerry Messenger with this free new APIs that allow more interaction between applications and the BlackBerry Messenger .
In this first BETA developers are able to do the following:
- Access and update the fields in the user profile, as the state, avatar and personal message.
- Create your custom fields in the user profile to promote the activity of recent applications or storage trophies and achievements.
- Initiate and integrate chat with friends.
- Initiate communication from application to application in the background through the BBM to send and receive application instructions, such as the movements of a game or any other change of status applications.
- Initiate file transfers.
- Ability to share applications in a “viral” with friends in your application list.
Included in this BETA Social Platform for special simulators BBM OS 5.0 and 6.0 , in order to simulate the communication between two instances of BBM. In this way developers can see exactly how to manage the integration between the instances and to achieve what they really want.
This initial BETA is focused on Java developers , are then expected to WebWorks platform integration .
