AT&T-Mo Merge a Job Killer?

While doing some homework for my AT&T project, I stumbled upon this article which anlaysts say, the At&T merge with T-Mobile might result in the loss of thousands of jobs. In the name of “efficiencies” in the transaction, At&T might need to leave behind quite a few of  ‘redunant’ items, which may in turn be some jobs and positions held by thousands of customer service assistants.

“There will be hundreds, or even more, of empty storefronts in malls all over the country, and a lot of customer service representatives will lose their jobs,” said Andrew Schwartzman, senior vice president and policy director at the Media Access Project, a consumer group fiercely opposed to the merger.

Although AT&T says they are actually planning on adding 7,000 new jobs to the market, consumer groups aren’t buying in.  I really need to get back to my hw but here is the link so you can follow up on the full scoop. See you bright and early tomorrow!
