ARKick wins AngelHack BlackBerry Challenge at BlackBerry Jam Asia, it bagged the people’s choice award, which was voted by the audience present there. To celebrate this ARKick is going on a 30% off sale for 2 weeks worldwide in BlackBerry World.
ARKick is a personalized Augmented Reality Sidekick app.
It helps users find the best places around them using contextual factors like weather, time, temperature and popular personalized places through social networks.
The version 2.0 of ARKick will also be available as a free upgrade to the current users later this month. What Is the AngelHack Start-Up Asia Pacific Challenge?
They’ve gone through a series AngelHacks in cities around the Asia Pacific region, and have emerged as victorious BlackBerry start-ups. The winning BlackBerry start-ups from the AngelHack series gathered at BlackBerry Jam Asia to compete against one another by pitching their app ideas.
About the BlackBerry Challenge
As part of AngelHack-BlackBerry collaboration, BlackBerry posted a 60-day challenge to all AngelHack attendees in the Asia Pacific region. Start-ups were challenged to submit a BlackBerry 10 app relevant to their line of business within 60 days of their respective AngelHacks. The best teams were selected from the cities and were flown into Hong Kong for BlackBerry Jam Asia to attend a start-up mentorship workshop by AngelHack mentors, BlackBerry technical evangelists and business development experts. At the end of the workshop, the teams competed against one another at the Angel Hack Start-Up Asia Pacific Challenge in front of BlackBerry Jam Asia attendees for a grand prize of $10,000 USD!
