Apple Board Member Uses a Blackberry

While some may argue that this is neither newsworthy nor does it hold any relevance, I argue that it does. This random piece of information stood out to me as a subliminal message, simply saying — You still have the choice. Lately online media has drawn and pushed the mental  picture that you either have an android/apple device or you don’t own a smartphone at all and as an avid BlackBerry user, I agree to disagree that those are the choices we are now limited to.

In a new CNBC documentary, J.Crew CEO and Apple Board member Mickey Drexler was filmed using a Blackberry instead of an iPhone. In the clip below, one can see his choice, the Blackberry Bold 9900, at roughly 21 seconds in:

Drexler has been a member of Apple’s board since 1999, though it appears he prefers his Blackberry to an iPhone. Clearly BlackBerry is still a choice, even though Android and iOS have left little room for RIM on the market.

Don’t feel bullied by media into choosing a device that is right for you by them.

Be Bold.
