CEO of AOL, Tim Armstrong, proudly stated that whilst he owns and uses multiple devices including the Samsung Note III and the iPhone 5s, he still loves using his BlackBerry and suggested other CEO’s do so, too.
It’s no surprise that whilst BlackBerry’s brand name has been tarnished over the years along with losing marketshare in the smartphone industry to the likes of the Apple iPhone and the range of Android devices, BlackBerry has a special place for people who just want to get things done. As stated on the video below, Tim explained whilst his Note III and iPhone provides him good use for multimedia purposes, his BlackBerry gets his job done i.e cranking out hundreds of emails per day and being able to rely on the messaging capabilities. He even went on so much to state that he wishes the company well for the future.
BlackBerry for me, is a utility. If you look around Sun Valley – probably your studios, you see people who have to do a tremendous amounts of work using a BlackBerry. – Tim Armstrong, CEO of AOL
Ironically, his BlackBerry serves him the original purpose of the mobile phone – communication. However, either he isn’t informed on the latest BlackBerry 10 devices (which provide good, if not, better multimedia and web browsing capabilities) or he’s waiting on the BlackBerry Classic? I should hope so!
