andrew-bocking1Andrew Bocking, otherwise known as the Executive Vice President or as the Head of BBM has departed from BlackBerry.

You might have read his blog posts on the Inside BlackBerry Blog pretty much when BBM was ready (almost) to launch on iOS and Android (and when it officially did, ofcourse) I must admit, I’m pretty surprised that he’s not with BlackBerry anymore, especially at a time when John Chen is looking to shape the company up (including the monetization of BBM eventually) and with a vote of confidence from shareholders too.

I can confirm that Andrew Bocking, EVP, BBM has made the decision to leave BlackBerry. We thank him for his years of leadership and contribution.

BlackBerry also confirmed that Mr. Bocking left the company and was not fired at all.

We wish Mr Bocking the best of luck.
