The Canadian Embassy approached BlackBerry to be the Technology Partner for the Inauguration event in Washington DC.  Over a thousand people attended the said event, where demo stations had been set up to showcase the Dev Alpha and the PlayBook and to sustain the buzz for the much anticipated BlackBerry 10 launch.

Clint RobinsonAccording to Clint Robinson, RIM Vice President for Government Relations, “You can really feel the buzz around town when you talk to people particularly our government customers. There’s tremendous anticipation around BlackBerry 10 and the upcoming launch on January 30th.”

Praveen Goyal

Praveen Goyal, RIM Vice President for Public Policy, added “I think there’s a desire there in the marketplace for greater flexibility and functionality in terms of what consumers can do with their devices but at the same time a strong need to make that sure those platforms and devices are secure…and I think that’s one of the ways that BlackBerry 10 is really responding to that in a differentiated way.”

Clearly, the hype for BlackBerry 10 continues to grow as we countdown the official launch on January 30th, and the Canadian Embassy Inauguration event displayed how much Research In Motion is really gearing up for the said launch.
