Research in Motion Soars 15% Black Friday

Research in Motion (ticker symbol: RIMM) had an awesome Black Friday. Shares in the company soared over 15% today. The company had seemingly been in a death spiral for several months and as late as September 24th, was trading at the $ 6.22 level.

The numbers

RIMM closed the holiday short trading session at $ 11.66 up $ 1.40 (13.65%). Shares had traded as high as $11.86. The volume Friday was massive as 74.4 million shares traded hands.  That equates to over three times the normal daily volume for RIMM.

Shares are up a whopping 84.5% since that September 24th low.
