The Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) kicked off Thursday 6 September in Toronto, Canada and BlackBerry is proud to be one of this year’s sponsors. The official BlackBerry Video Store app for the BlackBerry PlayBook gives users access to a video catalogue filled with thousands of movies and television shows, with new releases to be made available for purchase or rent the same day they came out on DVD. With the built-in HDMI connection you can easily plug your BlackBerry PlayBook into your HDTV to enjoy videos at home.
BlackBerry People’s Choice Awards
BlackBerry sponsored awards in three categories this year and details on the TIFF website read:
You can vote for any film you see at the Festival. Films that are part of a shorts programme or TIFF Cinematheque are not eligible for the BlackBerry® People’s Choice Award. Winners will be awarded in three categories: BlackBerry® People’s Choice Award; BlackBerry Documentary Award; and BlackBerry Midnight Madness Award.
