“There’s an App for That” is Now Official by Apple

This was sent to BR earlier and I just had to get it up here. So check this. Apple has filed and have won the exclusive trademark rights for the catchphrase, “There’s an app for that.” Since the launch back in ’07, they have used that catchphrase to promote their App Store and sell iOS devices.

Interesting note as to how the the trademark works. It covers “Retail store services featuring computer software provided via the Internet and other computer and electronic communication networks; retail store services featuring computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics.”

I wonder at what extent will this license be upheld? Will Apple really go that far and pursue everyone who uses their app phrase?
