Minnesota Vikings Wideout (WR) Bernard Berrian is allegedly suing a California couple that found his “missing” BlackBerry in Las Vegas last fall, and threatened to sell it for $30,000. According to CNN and AP, attorneys for Berrian outlined the allegations in a lawsuit unsealed Thursday in federal court in Minnesota.

The complaint states Berrian left his BlackBerry at an ATM in Las Vegas in October. On Jan. 4, Ron Jones and his girlfriend, Clarice Lankford, allegedly demanded $30,000, saying if Berrian didn’t pay, they’d sell the device to the highest bidder.

All I have to say about this is what a big mess over a BlackBerry. I’d be fuming if someone picked up my BlackBerry and demanded a large of sum of cash for it but let’s look at the facts:

According to reports:

The incident occurred in Nevada.

The couple (perpetrators) are from California.

The lawsuit has been unsealed in Minnesota .

This will be a case handled by the State Courts so the defendant better make some traveling arrangements. Ouch
