Vodafone BlackBerrys hit by Network Outage

Customers of the UK’s Largest networks Vodafone are today experiencing a loss of all services including BlackBerry data following a break in at one of the networks Technical &  Exchange Centres in Basingstoke.

The total number of users effected by this outage is not yet known but it is estimated to run into the millions, Vodafone have stated that their Crisis Management Team & Engineers are working to resolve the issue but as of yet there is no clear indication as to when services will be restored.

Below is a copy of the official statement released to the media by the network;

We had a break in last night at one of our technical facilities which resulted in damage done to some of our equipment. This means that some customers may be experiencing temporary loss of voice, sms and internet services. We are working quickly to restore these and will be back to normal as soon as we can. There has been no impact on the privacy of customers’ data.
