Verizon Debating Selling PlayBook

Reports from Verizon headquarters indicate that Verizon is still mulling over whether they want to sell the PlayBook at their retail locations. RIM had previously expected, and even included Verizon as a listed distributor, yet it seems Verizon is suffering from cold feet.

“We’re still evaluating the BlackBerry Playbook and have not made a determination as to whether we’re going to distribute it,” Verizon Wireless Spokeswoman Brenda Raney said.

Interesting news out of the Verizon camp. I am curious to know the reasoning behind this move. Will this affect future 3G/4G version of the PlayBook making it onto the Verizon Wireless device list? I suspect it has everything to do with the lack luster Motorola Xoom sales, but I hope they seriously consider carrying the PlayBook.
