RIM’s Balsillie Warns Us That NFC is Coming to ‘Many if Not Most’ BlackBerry Smartphones This Year

RIM co-CEO Jim Balsillie held a presentation at Mobile World Congress. One major thing he spoke about was NFC, near field communications.

“Many if not most of BlackBerry devices throughout the year will have NFC in them”

NFC has been used in wireless payment plans, and AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile last year teamed with Discover to offer ISIS, an NFC-based mobile payment technology.
