RIM remains Canada’s top corporate Research & Development Spender

Here’s some positive news for RIM on this Friday. Research In Motion is once again Canada’s top corporate spender on research and development, reports therecord.com. RIM actually boosted its spending on research and development by 26% to $1.3 billion in 2010 which represents about 6.8 per cent of its revenue.

“RIM has been investing heavily in new product development and in its underlying research and development,” he said Wednesday. “It is quite comforting to see them do that, but of course, the question is whether they will be able to sustain that. Time will tell.”
