Well the PlayBook launch is less than 2 days away and we are headed there fast. On that note, my wonderful girlfriend woke me up this morning with a newspaper and a surprise. Inside she had found the Office Depot Sunday Ad showing the new BlackBerry PlayBook for sale! What a great thing to wake up to. They’re advertising the 16GB model for $499. The PlayBook was also spotted in the Office Max Sunday Ad as well, and boy is this getting me jacked up for April 19th!!! Best Buy apparently forgot the PlayBook was launching this week and decided to put the Apple iPad 2 on the cover, but that’s their loss.
RadioShack also featured the PlayBook in their Sunday Ad mentioning a $50 trade in credit towards the PlayBook when you bring in an old laptop. I am not sure if that’s a good deal or not – heck, it may be if you have a really old laptop you were holding on to for an offer like this.
Still no word from Costco in the US, but I’m holding out to see if they’re going to eventually end up carrying it. I mean it only makes sense since RIM is pushing this tablet into over 20,000 retail locations across North America…we’ll have to sit tight and wait it out for Costco I guess.
