Earlier RIM finally released BBM support for the PlayBook, giving us a mirror BBM display from our smartphones to our tablets. If you’re barely going through the process on how to get BBM onto your PlayBook like I am, continue reading as I provide a quick walk though so you can get the steps needed to acces BBM from the PlayBook tablet.
Starting off, you’re going to have to update your current version of BlackBerry Bridge(v1.0.0.83) from the App World, or from the links below.
Next, make sure and upgrade to the latest BBM Download and proceed to fire up both bluetooth applications from both your smartphone and tablet.
Scroll over to your BlackBerry Bridge icon, and before your eyes should be a fresh BBM icon.
If you get a BBM message, watch the BBM notification on the top left screen. Tap the icon, and the contact and a brief message will display. Tap that and the BBM chat app opens up, giving you a full mirrored BBM experience.
Adding BBM contacts from your tablet is very simple. At the very bottom left of the screen there is a “+” which when pressed, will allow you to invite a BBM contact.
Tapping the top display will pull up your “My Profile” and display you your name, personal message, PIN, timezone, location and PIN barcode.
