This just in, another unreleased BlackBerry is set to roll out in Style. That’s right, the BlackBerry 9670 that was once named the Clamshell has been changed to BlackBerry Style. In my opinion, Clamshell isn’t as good as Style marketing wise, so good job by RIM on the name change. I wonder how many surveys were conducted, or many statistics were gathered to show that the name Clamshell isn’t a very good marketing name. Hopefully the phone will live up to it’s name and provide users a new and different way to use a BlackBerry. RIM has already jumped into the slider game with the Torch, and are now fixing to step back into the flip-phone game with the new Style. As of now, we have seen some Sprint branded 9670’s out there, so maybe CDMA carriers are going to get a new official smartphone with BlackBerry 6 installed coming out of the factory.
What do you think of the name change? Which name do you prefer? Will you be pushing to use a BlackBerry in Style?
