Action Starts Here Campaign in the Philippines: Merry Christmas for the BlackBerry Barkada

Research In Motion (RIM) rolled out the “Action Starts Here” campaign in the Philippines, inspiring consumers to take action and to stay connected with their barkadas (a Filipino word that refers to a group of friends) using BlackBerry® smartphones, especially this Christmas season.

Customers can avail of up to 35% off on BlackBerry smartphones and avail of BBM (BlackBerry® Messenger™) plans for as low as PHP 99/month.  As a Christmas offer until December 31, 2012, they can purchase BlackBerry® 7 smartphones from participating authorized dealers and get free and unlimited access to Facebook® and BBM for 30 days from Globe Telecom.

RIM also held several roadshows and parties across the country to spread the BlackBerry love this holiday season.   At the roadshow in SM Mall of Asia, shoppers were surprised when a flash mob overtook the Atrium.  Check out the video .

The campaign is also supported by ten Filipino celebrities who are also long-time BlackBerry users and real-life barkadas.  They are featured in three online videos showing how BlackBerry helps them to stay close to their loved ones.
