Besides constantly checking for a BlackBerry 10 update on my PlayBook, I always like to dive into BlackBerry World to check out what’s new. Being the app tester that I am, I can tell you one thing, there are a lot of quality apps being ported to BlackBerry from Android and the gaming experience now being brought by BlackBerry apps is getting more fluid. One game that has caught my attention is Speed Hiker.

Speed Hiker is an awesome game by Coloration Mobile that tests your timing skills. Game play is very simple, train > race > upgrade > win.

First thing you do right from the start is gain momentum going downhill.

This will allow you to slide down one hill and ramp off the next hill.

Successfully timing your drops will propel you higher while also increasing your speed. Chain perfect landings and jumps to double the value of the coins you collect along the way and also put you ahead of competition. The coins you collect allow you to purchase upgrades and finishing a race in the top three will win you three gems for first place, two gems for second place and one gem for third place.

What makes it more interesting is that your opponents are not AI but also other players like you out to prove their timing superiority.

If you need an addicting game to pass your time, download Speed Hiker and give it a try.
