TIFF Image Vulnerability Discovered in BlackBerry Enterprise Server

Over the years, BlackBerry has developed a rock-solid reputation for security, thanks in part to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server. But the unfortunate reality is, no software is infallible – BlackBerry recently discovered a BES exploit which could allow an attacker to gain access to, and execute, code on the server, quite simply by sending a TIFF image to a phone linked to the server.

First QNX BlackBerry Smartphone Being Rushed to Market without BES?

While next generation BlackBerry OS7 smartphones are channeling out, RIM is in the lab working on its newest device lineup. Announced at the AGM, RIM stated we would begin to see QNX SuperPhones hit the market in early 2012 which in reality, isn’t too long from now. According to reports,  at launch the first QNX BlackBerry smartphone which has been rumored to be codenamed “Colt” would hit the market with no BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) support.
