RIM Announces BlackBerry Pearl 3G Smartphone in South Africa

South Africa and Waterloo, ON – Research In Motion (RIM) (NASDAQ: RIMM; TSX: RIM) today announced the new BlackBerry® Pearl™ 3G (model 9105), the smallest BlackBerry® smartphone yet. The new smartphone will soon be available from MTN and Vodacom for customers in South Africa.*

The model is going to be the Pearl 9105 and features a 14-key traditional phone keyboard which uses SureType.The BlackBerry Pearl 3G will come with OS5 but just as the Curve 3G is, it will be BlackBerry 6 ready. The new smartphone will soon be available from MTN and Vodacom for customers in South Africa.*
