Press Release: Poynt for the BlackBerry Playbook Tablet Now Available in the United Kingdom

Poynt allows users to pair their BlackBerry smartphone to their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to initiate calls to businesses, add contacts to the address book and more in the United KingdomCALGARY, ALBERTA–(Marketwire – June 16, 2011) –

Poynt Corporation (“Poynt Corp.” or the “Company”) (TSX VENTURE:PYN), a leading provider of mobile local search services, today announced the launch of their award-winning mobile application Poynt for the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ tablet in the United Kingdom. Poynt’s availability on the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet today coincides with the launch of the device in the United Kingdom.

Poynt for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet has been built to take advantage of the enhanced graphics and user interface the tablet offers. Poynt for the BlackBerry PlayBook delivers the same search categories users have come to expect from Poynt. Users can search for businesses, movies, events, restaurants and weather information in their local area. Once users have located their desired listing, they can click-to-map, get directions, view movie showtimes and trailers, view restaurant reviews and book dining reservations all without leaving the App.

As an added feature, the latest version of Poynt for BlackBerry® smartphones allows users to pair their BlackBerry smartphone with their BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to combine the convenience of viewing listings on the tablet’s larger display while using the BlackBerry smartphone to interact with the search results. Users can call businesses, add addresses to the address book or add events to the calendar on their smartphone. Mapping and directions can also be pushed to the smartphone.

To enable the connectivity, users pair their BlackBerry smartphone with their PlayBook by simply selecting the ‘Pair with PlayBook’ tab in Poynt on their PlayBook and entering their BlackBerry smartphone PIN. They will then be given a security code to enter under a ‘Pair with PlayBook’ menu item on their BlackBerry smartphone. Once the devices have been paired they will remain paired until the user opts to un-pair them.

“By pairing their BlackBerry smartphone with their PlayBook, users in the United Kingdom can take advantage of integrating two essential wireless devices,” said Andrew Osis, CEO, Poynt Corp. “The Poynt user experience is now enhanced with the larger format of the PlayBook and all of the features Poynt offers on the BlackBerry smartphone. The BlackBerry platform continues to innovate on a global scale with this latest device launch.”

The newest release also includes the ability to share listings with friends via Facebook, in addition to the previously released ability to share listings via Twitter and email.

To enable pairing users will have to download the latest versions of Poynt for both their BlackBerry smartphone and Poynt for BlackBerry PlayBook from BlackBerry AppWorld™ (www.blackberry.com/appworld) or OTA at m.poynt.com.
