Fancy Google Play Store on your BlackBerry 10 device? Here’s how

Google Play Store on BlackBerry 10

A tinker here, a tinker there and voila! Read on further to see how you can get Google Play Store up and running on your BlackBerry 10 device.

This goes without saying, read this post carefully. User Cobalt on the CrackBerry Forums has quite the rep for being able to manipulate Android apps such as editing the app’s manifest and essentially removing the request for GPS (Google Play Services). This just means that the apps that required GPS began to work. The same applied for Google Login Services, with some tinkering and patching the APK file, users can now install the APK and proceed to login in most (not all) Google dependent apps.

Finally, Cobalt has also managed to get Google Play Store working on BlackBerry 10. It’s sort of 100% – the app loads, you are able to sign, view and download apps. Downloading the apps requires another APK under the name “Play Store Downloader” which the Play Store sends the download request to that app which begins to download and install.

You might be wondering that it may just be too much effort, but if you’re one of the folks that is too lazy to sideload Snap or find the process to be cumbersome (sort of) then this is perfect. These files are all nothing but patched APKs and can be run straight off your BlackBerry 10 device.

This is insane. We now have BlackBerry World, Amazon App Store, Snap – The 3rd Party Native Google Play Store for BlackBerry 10 and now the official Google Play Store working on BlackBerry 10. Not to mention every other third party Android App Stores such as 1Mobile.
