Distimo Report for June 2010‏- BlackBerry stands out

Distimo, the innovative app store analytics company, has released their report for June 2010. The new report covers the BlackBerry App World (Worldwide), the Apple App Store for iPad, the Apple App Store for iPhone, Google Android Market, Nokia Ovi Store, Palm App Catalog and Windows Marketplace for Mobile for May 2010 in the United States. I went ahead and broke down the BlackBerry section for you, so let’s see how RIM is doing compared to the other six appstores

Findings

More than 50% of applications are priced below or equal to $2.00 in all stores, with the exception of BlackBerry  App World and Windows Marketplace for Mobile. What does this mean? Simply that the majority of the apps offered through the BlackBerry App World are priced $2.00 and above.

The findings for the highest rank PAID app ending in May (Worldwide) are The number one seller through the month of May is a theme by Dream Theme priced at $3.99 called Sky 2 LiveScreen. The tenth highest paid app was a utility app by Mobatech called Mobile Checkbook priced at $7.99. Clearly, Themes took up 60% of the top 10 apps that are the highest paid through the month of May in the BlackBerry App World

The findings for the highest rank FREE app ending in May (Worldwide) are- The number one downloaded app for BlackBerry in the App world through the month of May is Pandora Radio. BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) came in third, while the tenth most downloaded app was the Imaginining Theme by MMMOOO
