RIM Gears up for AppWorld 3.0 Rollout

Share This Post

Our resident developer John Pinkerton today received an email outlying the plans for the roll-out of AppWorld 3.0

The email contained details of the changes being made by RIM in preparation for AppWorld 3.0

The details of changes being made are as follows;

1.    Please know that BlackBerry App World Vendor portal will be down for maintenance on July 6th from 2:00am – 6:00am (EST). You will not be able to access or make any submissions or changes.

2.    After the maintenance window is completed, you will notice two new fields:

a.    Short Description: This is your feature description or your one line sales pitch. Please provide a “short description” of each of your items to make your app more discoverable. We support multilingual short descriptions so you can make your sales pitch more local and relevant to better attract users who speak more languages around the globe.

Note: BlackBerry App World supports 108 Countries worldwide and growing!

·         The maximum character length is 50 Characters (including spaces)

b.    Feature Image: You can now upload a featured app image. This is required if you want your application to be considered for feature. It will make your application much more discoverable.

·         Image Specifications: 1920 x 1186 pixel .PNG file

Hopefully we will see the release of AppWorld 3.0 very soon indeed.

What are you expecting from AppWorld 3.0 and will it look anything like the screen shot that appeared on N4BB back in May?
