What BlackBerry Means To Me

Well earlier this week we saw a wonderful editorial by Donta about BBM and how it is a true companion to him, Well that post has inspired me to share with you my personal experiences with BlackBerry over the years.

So this is what BlackBerry means to me.

My names Jonas and I’m BlackBerry Empire’s UK Editor, I’m 26 and I have been a BlackBerry user and abuser for around 3 years now.

I had always been a loyal Nokia user since I was around 15 and had seen many changes and new horizons over the years in the world of mobile tech, I don’t know what made me get a BlackBerry but I have never looked back since.

My 1st BlackBerry was a borrowed Curve 8310 and to tell the truth when I laid my hands on it I was a little out of my depth and it took me a while to get my head around the different features from the push email to the BBM, After a few months I was hooked and couldn’t wait to get an upgrade to the Bold 9000.

Once I had my Bold 9000 my love affair with BlackBerry got stronger and found myself constantly checking forums and message boards for OS updates and Leaked apps (This was around the time of the OS5 Upgrade) my 1 gripe about the 9000 was the pesky trackball and boy did that annoy alot of users.

I did default for a few months after my Bold 9000 Trackball gave up the ghost to the HTC Legend an Android device and although I found it a good device I missed the little things like BBM and the push email and I quickly found myself back with the trusty BlackBerry.

Over the years since my Bold 9000 I have owned both the Bold 9700 & Bold 9780 and am now using the torch 9800, I have come to rely on BlackBerry’s robust design and reliable email handling to keep me going and online during my busy days and I now feel lost when I am without my device

So what does BlackBerry mean to me, Well BlackBerry to me is a device you can rely on to always be there when you need to contact a loved one over BBM , schedule and important meeting using the calendar or send that last minute email to the office.

I hope that BlackBerry continues to grow and excel as it has done over the years and one thing I can be sure of is that I’ll be a BlackBerry user and abuser for years to come.
