Just recently I reviewed Pristine, the pure, clean, fresh theme from Jake at Vision Mobility/BlackBerryThemePark. Well, here is Tarnished, the antithesis of Pristine. Where Pristine is a white based theme based on purity, Tarnished is dark and sexy. Same elements and features, but those who like to live on the dark side, this is the theme for you. Tarnished. Nothing dull about this theme. Black is cool. Black is sexy. I love, love this home screen. Clean, simple, and elegant. All the elements on the home screen are placed perfectly. Custom meters on both sides of the bottom banner which also holds the notifications. Clock date and OCD slot are on the top. That’s it. But don’t let that fool you. This theme is function and this theme is what you want.
The option’s panel controls the home screen, and you control the options. Bring it up by scrolling right from the clock and a wheel will appear. Click it and bring up the controls. Choose one of 8 colors for the text of the home screen. That’s right. Change the color of the meters, date, clock and OCD text. Hide the dock, hide the ocd and ocd text, or hide the meters. Or show them all. It’s up to you. Make it how you want, as sexy as you want.
This screen shot shows all the elements showing with the blue text selected. How good does that look? This theme is hot. Ever since I started using first Cheshire (which has yet to come off my theme list), and then Pristine, I keep coming back to these themes. I love the design, and function is so easy to use.
Awesome app screen with a black and yes sexy (have I said that already?) background and clean pop up menus. The semi transparent focus that is used throughout compliments the them perfectly. Where Pristine gave you pure white freshness, Tarnished gives you dark and bold. Just right for my Bold.
You can’t find a better looking theme. I have plenty of them and tried most of them. This one has maximum wall paper viewing, and will go with any background you choose. Did I tell you it runs smooth as butter? It navigates flawlessly, and has absolutely no lag. Jake knows how to build themes, and Jake knows what people want. He has provided a theme that has something for everyone. Pristine for those who like pure and now Tarnished, for those who want sexy. Either theme is awesome.
