Leading OEMs to Preinstall BBM on Android-Based Smartphones

BBM will soon come preinstalled on a variety of Android based smartphones from leading OEMs across Africa, India, Indonesia, Latin America and the Middle East. Beginning next month, Android smartphones from Be, Brightstar, Celkon, EVERCOSS, IMO, Micromax, Mito, Snexian, Spice, TECNO, TiPhone and Zen will include BBM preinstalled. ooVoo to Launch Free Video Chat and IM Solution for the BlackBerry 10 Platform

I know the concern with most about the upcoming BlackBerry 10 operating system is the number of quality apps that will come with it, particularly multi-platform communication apps, which form the bulk of everyday mobile tools. Microsoft Plans to Shutdown Windows Live Messenger, Migrate to Skype

Microsoft has announced that they will shutdown their Windows Live Messenger service and migrate all users to Skype on March 15th. What could this mean for BlackBerry users who do use Windows Live Messenger? RIM in talks for BlackBerry Music Service

RIM is in talks with the four largest record companies about launching a new music service to run on top of BlackBerry Messenger, the company’s instant-messenger service, multiple sources with knowledge of the negotiations told CNET. The major labels, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group, and EMI Music, are eager to see new retail services and to continue being part of mobile devices, especially smartphones. RIM is linking its music service to BBM BlackBerry Messenger,  because it remains one of BlackBerry’s last critical assets. Cross Platform Messenger Proves its Worth

This blog post is not to promote Live Profile, rather bring to the surface what an app like Live Profile means to us. Live Profile is a cross platform, instant messenger that allows BlackBerry, Android, and iPhone users to seamlessly connect to one another via a PIN number. Last November KIK, a similar cross chat platfform app which was pulled off the market, blew passed their 1,000,000 download mark at their initial launch.
