Profile pictures are now rotated correctly Added ‘Login via Browser’ as an option when adding more then one account Added multiple retries to the authorization process as the twitter servers appear to timeout or return nothing quite often Added a ‘Theme’ menu itme so you can easily change themes from the home timeline without going into options Changed the menu text of ‘My Timeline’ to ‘My Tweets’ to more accurately reflect the functionality Support for new device screen sizes for installable themes Fixed a theme bug where backgrounds were not being used on all screens, causing tiling of the portrait background Download UberSocial update:

RIM Reports BlackBerry 6 OS Usage Increases [Updated Device Stats Released]

A while back RIM released device stats giving us a rough estimate of OS usage between BlackBerry Smartphones. RIM has just released from the BlackBerry Developer Zone, the latest OS data from May. Probably the most interesting stat from the data shows that in-market devices running 6.0 software has jumped a full 8% from March of this year, now at 18%. RIM is only taking into consideration 3 devices when it comes to measuring BlackBerry 6 – Torch 9800, Bold 9780, and Style 9670. Judging from all the BB6 talk since the release, BlackBerry 6 usage should hold a higher percentage if unsupported devices were counted. Think of all the Bold 9700’s , Curve 3G and Pearl 3Gs that have undergone the transformation from OS5 to 6. None the less, OS5 still holds the majority of BlackBerry smartphone usage at 50%. Check below for more stats.

A few days some exclusive hands on pictures surfaced of the upcoming BlackBerry Curve “Apollo” which is set to be the next generation Curve following the current Curve 3G 93xx. We’ve heard the Apollo is set to release with OS7 along with a nice 480 x 360 resolution display and an upgraded 800MHz processor but I couldn’t help but to write on something I noticed in the 7 Minute Apollo hands on video.  Check below for more .

It’s official! BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 Coming to T-Mobile September 8th

Finally. After months of talk, we finally hear a launch date for the BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300. This morning while getting ready for class, I was browsing through my tweets where I stumbled upon a tweet from T-Mobile USA’s account. This is what they had to say,”BlackBerry Curve 3G coming to T-Mobile Sept. 8 for $79.99 (+ tax & fees). BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 Dummy Comes to T-Mobile Stores!

This device has had the most global coverage all week. Now it is time we jump back into North America and discuss some news that has been discovered. PocketBerry have just got thier hands on this image from one of their T-Mobile connects showing a dummy unit that has arrived to the store. According to PBs source, the dummy is still not out on display yet. Last summer, I asked the local T-Mobile rep if they knew when they would get the 9700’s when they dropped. She had no clue they were even picking up a new BlackBerry, so it doesn’t surprise me that there still is nothing on the T-Mobile employee streamline about this. However, with this dummy being out already, it does seem odd that they haven’t said anything on it yet. Give it a week or so, we’ll start to see advertisements rolling in. Some questions have arisen such as will it sell? My opinion, yes. Here is why. Take a look around. Where I’m from, I see a lot of 85xx series on the streets. Hit the More button to read the rest of my justification, or not.

RIM Unveils the BlackBerry Curve 3G in Thailand

Earlier today RIM announced that the BlackBerry Curve 3G is coming to Thailand. Ive been posting on this device heavily for the passed few days. Also known is that Bell, Rogers, and Telus as well are picking it up. What are your thoughts about the 9300 coming to Thailand? BlackBerry Curve 3G 9300 Unboxing and Overview

The guys over at intomobile have got their hands on a branded Telus BlackBerry Curve 3G. The video is short but provides and effective overview of the new device that is set to be released soon. Check out the unboxing for a sneak peak of how the phone looks coming straight out of the box. As if we do not know how this device looks, it has the same form factor as the economical BlackBerry 8520/30 series, with some minimal cosmetic changes. The guts however, is a different story. Breathing with a strong internal upgrade, and I say strong because it will be BlackBerry 6 ready! It comes with OS5 but I say BlackBerry 6 ready because when available, the 9300 will be able to support the appropriate version of 6. Earlier we posted that Vodafone Uk was getting the Curve 3G in an exclusive Vf red, and we already know T-mobile is offering the Curve 3G in two colors, a smoky violet and graphite grey. Also known is that Bell, Rogers, and as you can empirically see in the video, Telus as well are picking it up. Question is WHEN? or even WHY? Mooove on RIM! Enough of me, Let’s take it to intomobile Hit the More button for the Video >>

T-Mobile Gets Curve 3G

Hello members and readers, in recent news, the Curve 9300 aka Curve 3G has been announced by RIM for release on select carriers. We now know that T-Mobile will be getting it. The main issue that I want to address is, why now? I mean, everyone wanted a Curve 8900 with a 3G radio but how much good will it do for the market and users now? How much of an impact will this have on the consumer side, as well as the business side dealing with profits and all? Sure it’s specs will be better and being that it’s newer, it should operate better than the Bold, but, I just think it’s a little too late. Now is not the time for this. Curve 8900 fans everywhere will grab the 9300 over the 9700 but what will happen when the 9780 is released soon after? There is a small issue with product release up at RIM and I think they need to clean it up and move forward. Let the 9300 and 9780 be the last of their kind. Let’s take the Torch the Bold and the Curve to greater heights. Maybe I’m just ranting. I don’t know anymore. Let me know what you think. This subject really pulls on my chin hair and I want it to stop. Enjoy your BlackBerry tho, whatever the case may be. Rumor also has it that the Curve 9300 will get a CDMA version(9330) that’s predicted for VZW. This supports all notions of the Curve being a known staple in the BB community. 3G Curves are the future. How about a touch screen?” hmmmm For more info regarding the new 9300, visit www.blackberry.com/curve3G
