I have had my BlackBerry Z10 since April 29th and so far I truly enjoy everything about it. It’s sleek looking, fast, easy to type on, and best of all it’s a BlackBerry. Well a couple weeks ago I almost started to cry, not because the Z10 was giving me a problem, but because I dropped my device on a cement driveway.
Once I checked every inch of my beloved Z10 to realize how lucky I was because I didn’t damage it and after my heart rate came back down to normal I knew it was time to find a few cases to protect it from anything that might happen to it in the future.
The first place I thought of to start protecting my Z10 was a company called Brando Workshop. These folks have every type of case that I needed and as you may know by now, I’m a big believer in customer care so it was great to see that Brando Workshop was there to answer any type of questions I had. Once I looked through the many different cases they had to offer I picked out three and I’m glad to say they were delivered on Thursday. I will be posting a review on each one of them for all of you to check out and who knows maybe you will find one that you feel will be perfect for your Z10 as well.
With that said the first one I want to tell you about is the BlackBerry Z10 Rubberized Back Hard Case. This case is very basic and does a great job if you are looking for something to protect your device but not add any type of bulk to it. The first thing I noticed was that case was very light weight and as you can see in the image the Z10 just slides into the tray with almost no effort. Can’t get much easier than that, right?
If you look at the next few images you will see that the case should provide enough protection for those times your Z10 may slip out of your hand or pocket as it covers the entire back of the device and all around the edges. Another nice thing about the case covering the back, it should keep the dust out of the device. As far as the front of the Z10, there is a little edge that prevents the screen from being scratched if for some reason the phone is placed on its face. Now please remember that this is a small edge and probably won’t provide much protection if you drop it face first on cement or some other hard surface.
You will also see there are cutouts on both sides of the case that allow you access to the media keys on one side and the microUSB/microHDMI ports on the other. I do have one small issue in this area of the case though. When I try to use the volume keys to either turn up or down the music or even just take a screen shot the edge of the case around the media keys kinda gets in the way making it a little more work to use them. Don’t get me wrong this is not a big issue at all, I just catch myself looking for the key to make sure im actually pressing the right one and I’m sure as I get use to the case that small issue will go away.
There is something else that I really like about this case, it’s only $11. You can also choose from Black, White, Pink, Magenta, Purple, Blue, Cyan, Mango, or Red. So many colors and such a small price makes this a perfect case for me.
I would definitely recommend this Rubberized Back Hard Case to anyone that is looking for a case that is thin and looking for protection from an occasional drop or two. In fact this will probably be the case I use the most because even though I am usually very careful with my BlackBerry Z10 I also know accidents do happen and this case will provide me with the protection I’m looking for.
