PlayBook Sells 250,000 Units in One Month

More positive news from camp RIM this morning as RBC Capital’s Mark market research shows that RIM is in line with projections of selling 500,000 units of their new BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Surveys have also shown an increase in consumer willingness to purchase a 7″ tablet which can be beneficial for the PlayBook tablet in months to come. So far analysts are positive, yet they predict the PlayBook will not come close to touching sales for the rivaled iPad anytime soon.

However, these projections far exceed first month sales (of 100,000 units) set by Motorola Mobility and their Xoom tablet which was released roughly two weeks before the RIM tablet.
