As many of you may have seen Michael Clewley has been sharing some of the features that are coming in the 10.3 OS. We have already seen new homescreen icons, signature action, “endless folders”, “always home”, and “quick! quick settings”. Well today Michael has shown us a few different things that have to do with the e-mail part of the OS as well as one that has to do with the BlackBerry Hub.
The first one is the ability to download all attachments you may receive in an e-mail. In the past any e-mail I received that had multiple attachments I had to tap on each one to get them to download but in 10.3 that is no longer needed, I can download them all at once.
Next Michael showed us the ability to delete the original text when replying to an e-mail. This will be nice for folks that like to reply to an e-mail but not have what was originally sent showing in the new message. I have used this feature on legacy devices when having a casual conversation with folks and that string of replies gets longer and longer.
The third thing we saw today was the ability to file sent messages. I kinda like this one being brought back since I like to keep some of my sent messages for easy reference when following up with contacts that may not have replied as quickly as I like.
There is another item that isn’t an e-mail one but was featured in his channel as well (Sorry there is no image for this one). Looks like the 10.3 OS Hub will now “reset” after 30 mins of inactivity. This means it will close, auto-save any open content, and then default to the list. Michael did say that this feature is still in the early stages but should meet the needs of folks that have been requesting it.
So far all the changes seem to be things we have been wanting for awhile now and I’m sure that will make many of you very happy. So be sure to hit up the comments below and let us know your thoughts and opinions about the changes coming in the 10.3 OS. Is it looking good to you so far? Anything extra you are hoping to see?
