For all of you that have been waiting on a 10.2 OS to leak then time to fire up your desktop systems because Kris in the CB Forums has posted one. This is OS 10.2.0.483 and will be for the BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 (sorry STL100-1 users it appears to not work on your device). Now to load this OS there are a few things you MUST do to get it running properly on your devices so please read before trying to install.
First you will need to download and install OS 10.2.0.341 for your appropriate device. You can download this step here. After you have this OS on your device you will need to complete the initial setup to make sure you have BlackBerry services running and then proceed with a security wipe.
Once you complete the security wipe download and install OS 10.2.0.483 (OS only) on top of the .341 OS to get things running the way they should. You can download OS 10.2.0.483 here. For those of you keeping track you will end up with 10.2.0.483 OS and 10.2.0.341 radio.
Now to let you all know this 10.2 OS does come with a few warnings so let’s get them out of the way.
1. Software Update via settings, or downloading carrier based apps, have been known to bootloop a device. If this happens you will need to reflash the .483 OS only.
2. If you install BBM Channels you won’t be able to reply to BBM actionable notifications. Looks like you will still get the notification but it won’t allow to reply.
3. It also appears if you do install this latest leak you will have your PIN number super imposed on your device in the corners.
4. This next one is very important!! This leak had not been tested on all the different BlackBerry Z10 and Q10 models so load at YOUR OWN RISK!!
As always make sure to backup your device before updating to the newest release just to be safe. Also remember BlackBerry Empire is not responsible for anything that may go wrong during the update process. If you do decide to try this leaked 10.2 OS out be sure to hit up the comments below and let us know how it’s doing for you and also what device and model number you have it running on.
