KOBO to be One of the First to Use the New BBM Social Platform

It looks like KOBO will be one of the first to use the new BBM Social Platform. RIM announced the opening up to API’s for 3rd party developers for BBM. If you’re unaware of this new platform don’t worry, it just got unveiled today at DevCon. KOBO, the global e-reading service, have already taken into consideration what the BBM Social Platform can do. Mr. Dan Leibu from Kobo books hopped on stage and announced some plans for the near future. “How can we turn reading social” he says. Clearly, their mission is to read any book they choose on any device.

Expect to now share content with BBM contents directly from the app itself. Build your own virtual book club. Share, chat and more. The concept here is to make reading more ‘Social’. By developing an app that is based on an individual thing such as reading, and turn that into a social application. Very interesting to see this roll out already.
