Instagram 4.1 for BlackBerry 10 [Download Here]

Instagram 4.1.0

Instagram 4.1 was announced today, bringing in a few new features one being the ability to import videos from library, we have installed on a BlackBerry 10 device running a leaked OS 10.2, so far it seems to be working OK without a debug token, using this tutorial. It works very well, and will even allow you to upload video provided that you record it outside of the app! (Update: Video must have been recorded prior to OS 10.2, or with a third-party app. It doesn’t like the 10.2 codecs) Unfortunately, videos recorded within the app will crash the app when you try to upload. Change log in 4.1:

Import Video from Library
Starting today you can upload videos from your phone’s media library and share those moments to Instagram regardless of when they were captured. Once you select the video clip you’d like to import, you can trim it down to the exact part you like best. We’ve also made it so that you can choose how you square-crop your clip so you can keep the action front and center.

Automatic Straightening for iOS There are few things more distracting than a crooked horizon in a photo. We’re happy to announce that we’ve developed a brand new technology that brings you straight photos instantly. When you take a photo with the in-app camera, you can now tap the new Straighten icon and your photo will correct to be level—it’s that simple. The straightening tool also includes a slider so you can rotate and adjust any photo—including ones imported from your photo library—as much or as little as you’d like.

Video on Instagram for Ice Cream Sandwich We’re excited to expand Video on Instagram to people who use Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Since the launch of Video on Instagram this has been the Android community’s number-one request, and we’re excited to see this community grow.

For those of you having issues with the keyboard when commenting on photos, there is a way of fixing it:

1. Get the Google Keyboard from Android here, and the Apex Launcher here. Technically, you can use any other launcher with access to the Android Settings app, as well as any other keyboard, but these ones are confirmed to work.

2. Once you’ve sideloaded both of them, go into the Apex Launcher, and open up Google Settings.

3. Find the language and input options, where you will disable the BlackBerry keyboard. Then proceed to enable the Google Keyboard.

With that done, just close the app and your Instagram commenting should work now. Unfortunately, this fix will mean you’ll lose the native BlackBerry 10 keyboard when using Android ports, as you’re replacing the BlackBerry 10 keyboard within Android Player with the Google Keyboard from Android.
