Bedside mode has been a staple feature on BlackBerry Device’s, and it has made it’s way over to BlackBerry 10 devices. When a device is in bedside mode it essentially makes the phone silent, by disabling led and sound notifications, dims the clock, and brings up alarm options. There are two ways to enter bedside mode on BlackBerry 10.
Enabling Bedside Mode from the Clock Icon
This will bring down a menu that gives the option for help, bedside mode and clock options. Click on bedside mode.
Once the phone is in bedside mode as pictured above, there will be no sound nor led notifications. This will also dim the clock to night time “red” mode, so will not glow but will stay on in case you need to view the time in the dark.
Entering Bedside Mode Using the Lock Button
Pressing the lock button on the top of the BlackBerry 10 device will make the screen blank, but a swipe up will bring up the lock screen.
Clicking the the icon at the top of the lock screen, which looks like a little bed as pictured above, will put the BlackBerry 10 in bedside mode.
To leave bedside mode at any time, simply swipe up from the bottom of the beside mode screen. If you have entered bedside mode from the clock icon, swiping up will bring you to the main screen’s of the BlackBerry 10. If you entered bedside mode using the lock button, it will return you to the lock or “cover” screen.”
