Google’s Eric Schmidt Admits He Loves His BlackBerry – Get This Man A Q10!

BlackBerry Q10 Keyboard

Google is currently the proud company behind the world’s most popular smartphone platform – Android. So it would stand to reason that Google’s executives would proudly display the latest Android flagships wherever they go. But Eric Schmidt, executive chairman of Google, recently admitted that he actually uses a BlackBerry and loves it.

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard of him using one either – he was spotted with a Curve 8900 in 2009, and a Bold 9780 in 2011. The reason behind Schmidt’s love for BlackBerry? The keyboard. Yes, the legendary BlackBerry physical keyboard is so good that it’s kept the man behind Android’s parent company coming back to buy Berry’s.

Now, Schmidt is likely one of the more hardcore keyboard fans, seeing as he’s managed to stick around with BlackBerry through their darkest times, despite the obvious temptation to stand behind his company’s products, in order to make sure he had the best keyboard in the industry. But what about those who still love the physical keyboard, who moved to another platform after becoming fed up with an aging operating system?

This brings me to the BlackBerry Q10. Powered by modern hardware and the brand-new BlackBerry 10 OS, the gripes of BlackBerry’s past have been more or less rectified. It’s certainly not a perfect phone, such a thing simply doesn’t exist, but it’s a huge step in the right direction for BlackBerry, and it’s still rocking that good ol’ BlackBerry keyboard. You no longer have to make the same sacrifices to enjoy a good keyboard – you can have your cake and eat it too. This, then, is a product that has the potential to bring back a lot of past BlackBerry users who caved in and converted. The brand was once at the top of the smartphone world after all, and I’m sure many still remember their physical keyboards very fondly.

So, what about Schmidt? Shall he convert to a Q10? I’d certainly hope so – it’s shaping up to be the best physical keyboard phone ever made. And while he’s at it, perhaps he could kindly ask his employees to bring Google Maps over to BlackBerry 10!
